The most important thing to understand: WriteMyDispute is a self-help document preparation service. We are not a law firm, we are not attorneys, and we do not provide legal advice. Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship. No attorney reviews your documents. Our service is not a substitute for the advice of a licensed attorney in your state.
1. Who We Are and What These Terms Cover
WriteMyDispute.com (the "Site" and "Service") is operated by White Barn Digital, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site and Service. By using the Site or purchasing a letter, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service Is — and Is Not
The Service is self-help software. Based solely on the information you type in, it assembles a customized dispute or demand letter using automated, AI-assisted document generation. The Service:
- Is not legal advice, and nothing on the Site — including articles, templates, statute summaries, and generated letters — constitutes legal advice;
- Does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and us or anyone else;
- Does not involve review of your situation or your document by an attorney;
- Is not a substitute for consulting a licensed attorney about your specific circumstances, deadlines, or rights;
- Cannot represent you, file anything on your behalf, or appear for you in any proceeding.
Laws change, vary by jurisdiction, and apply differently to different facts. If your matter is significant, time-sensitive, or contested, consult a licensed attorney in your state. Many offer free consultations, and legal aid organizations serve those who qualify.
3. AI-Generated Content — Your Responsibility to Review
Letters are generated by artificial intelligence based on your inputs. AI-generated content can contain errors, omissions, or statements that do not fit your situation. You are solely responsible for reviewing your letter for accuracy and completeness before using it, including all facts, dates, amounts, names, and legal references. You decide whether, when, and how to use any document the Service produces, and you bear sole responsibility for the consequences of sending it.
4. No Guarantee of Outcomes
We make no representation or warranty that any letter will achieve any particular result — including, without limitation, the return of a deposit, the reversal of a denial, the cessation of collection activity, a refund, or any response at all. Statute summaries on the Site are general educational information, may not reflect the most recent legal developments, and may not apply to your facts.
5. Eligibility and Acceptable Use
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide truthful, accurate information, and to use generated documents only for lawful purposes relating to your own genuine disputes (or those of someone you are authorized to assist). You may not use the Service to harass, defraud, defame, or threaten anyone, to generate documents containing false statements, or to violate any law. We may refuse or terminate service for misuse.
6. Purchases, Plans, and Refunds
Letter generation requires purchase of a plan (e.g., Single, Bundle, or Family Pack), processed by Stripe. Plans include a fixed number of letter generations valid for the period stated at purchase. Because letters are digital goods delivered immediately upon generation, all sales are final once a letter has been generated. If you experience a technical problem — a payment that didn't unlock the generator, a generation that failed, or a similar issue — contact us at support@writemydispute.com and we will make it right, including issuing a refund where appropriate at our discretion.
7. Intellectual Property
The Site, its content, design, and software are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the information you submit. Upon generation, you receive a perpetual, personal license to use, edit, and send the letter generated for you. You may not resell, redistribute, or use the Service to build a competing product, and you may not scrape, copy, or republish Site content.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SITE AND SERVICE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF MONEY, OPPORTUNITY, RIGHTS, OR CLAIMS, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR SERVICE OR ANY DOCUMENT IT GENERATES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, these limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or any document you choose to send.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes what information we collect and how we use it, and is incorporated into these Terms.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Greene County, Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction. You agree that any claim must be brought within one (1) year after it arises, and only in your individual capacity — not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
